For the past 12 years, multiple productions have claimed an affiliation with Michael Firestone or suggested that he is connected to their shows. Those claims are not accurate. Michael Firestone is the creator, original star, and driving force behind I AM KING – The Michael Jackson Experience, and his professional history and accomplishments should not be confused with the productions of others.

For nearly three decades, Michael Firestone has dedicated his career to bringing the artistry, energy, precision, and spirit of Michael Jackson to audiences around the world. From his early days performing in Las Vegas to international tours and major theatrical productions, Firestone has built a career that extends far beyond the traditional tribute-show format.

Firestone was the co-creator and original star of MJ Live, and later starred in MJ The Evolution. He also wrote and co-produced Moonwalker: The Reflection of Michael, and has performed extensively throughout North America, Canada, Japan, Israel, and India.

His career includes performances and productions such as King Michael, Invincible, Man in the Mirror, Michael Jackson Laser Spectacular, MTV Magic Featuring Michael Firestone, Around the World Featuring Michael Firestone, Legends in Concert, An Evening at La Cage, and Masquerade, along with numerous major corporate, theatrical, television, and special-event appearances.

Firestone’s connection to the world of Michael Jackson began at a young age. After establishing himself as a performer in Las Vegas, he was mentored by entertainment veterans including John “Johnny” Stewart and Steve Beyer, experiences that helped shape the performer and producer he would ultimately become.

His career has also included appearances at major venues and events, including performances connected to the Los Angeles Clippers, San Francisco 49ers, Miami Marlins, and other high-profile entertainment and sporting events.

In 2002, Firestone participated in an AOL/Tonos songwriting competition associated with David Foster and Michael Jackson, further demonstrating that his connection to Jackson’s musical world has never been limited to impersonation alone.

Perhaps most importantly, Firestone’s career includes a personal encounter with Michael Jackson himself—an experience that remains one of the defining moments of his professional life. Jackson recognized Firestone’s performance and even offered him a correction regarding the opening movement of “Billie Jean,” a moment Firestone has carried with him throughout his career.
